There is no moon in The Badlands.

Quite the drive, quite the experience thus far. The minute we crossed into South Dakota, we felt the West. It's hot, dry, and windy. It smells amazing. We made our way to The Badlands at the perfect time, just before sunset. After the tent was set, we went off to explore while the hills turned the most amazing shades of copper and red. Came back, made some dinner, and listened to a little Willie Nelson quietly while we gazed at the millions of stars. I couldn't have asked for a better, more perfect evening.

  1. Long day I'm sure. What does SD smell like?

I love laying on the ground looking up at those millions of stars when the skies are endless and you can see forever...

How did you camp stove work?

  2. I love the way the West smells. It's just different. Must be the creosote bushes and the dust.

Tell us about the corn palace! Did the wind blow your tent around? Did you eat a can of beans and play a harmonica around the fire?
